Seems like everyone's got to have one of these. So herding instinct kicked my individuality in the nuts and here we go:
Yes.
It's a Hohner Professional Bass-V - an inexpensive and very light 5-string bass that fits my playing styles very nicely. I've had it for 10+ years now and so far I find it totally adequate. Its lightness gets me through those long sessions without having to spend zillions in chiropractors and physiotherapy. If someone wanted to donate a 1972 Fender Jazz Bass - with or without frets - to a good home, I might be tempted as long as I get to keep this one as well ;)
Just recently I managed to acquire another Hohner B-Bass V! This one's a custom job fretless with natural finish and black hardware. This mutha sings!

Yes.
I plead the 5th. No let's make it a chromatic down and you do a diminished.
There are way too many fine musicians around to have all of them listed. Probably my first influence was Billy Cox of the Band of Gypsys fame: The bass riff from Who knows is definitely one of the first lines I ever learned on the el.bass.
Another early influence was Gary Thain of Uriah Heep, whose melodic runs rang sweet to my ear when I was in my teens. You can't mention bass without mentioning giants like Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, Stanley Clarke, Charles Mingus and Jaco Pastorius. Oh and Victor Wooten, man he plays all the Bass in the world!
I do not feel at home there so probably not.
In a moment, dear.
*sigh* You know what, think I'll just pop into that closet over there. Be back in a minute... *BANG* *SPLAT* *THUD*

They're umlauts, which in Finnish modify the pronounciation to be as [æ]. Start practising now.
